Sixteen years of rings

It started with a Craigslist ad. It did not stay there.

How it grew

Tree Ring Digital began the way most useful companies do, with one person doing the work and telling the truth about it. Clients kept asking for the next thing. A website turned into hosting. Hosting turned into maintenance. Maintenance turned into marketing, then brand work, then the uncomfortable question of who actually owned the domain. Each ring was added by a client asking for something adjacent, which is why the service list looks the way it does rather than the way a strategy deck would have drawn it.

What we believe

That a client who can leave is a client worth keeping. Every account we touch is created in your name, on your billing, under your ownership, and the documentation goes to you rather than staying in our system. It is a slightly worse retention strategy and a considerably better business, because the people who stay are the ones who checked their options and stayed anyway.

The team

A US based group covering WordPress development, graphic design, content, digital marketing, and traditional print. Small enough that the person writing your page is the person you can call about it. Large enough that nobody has to become an expert in something at eleven at night.

Denver, and everywhere else

The office is at 3000 Lawrence Street in the River North district, and a good share of the work is national. That mix is deliberate. Local work keeps us honest, because you run into your clients at events. National work across industries is where the pattern recognition comes from, which is why we usually know how a market behaves before the first campaign runs.

The rooms we sit in

We sponsor the Women of M&A Network, sit on the executive committee of the Rocky Mountain chapter of the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors, and are a certified LGBT Business Enterprise and a member of the Colorado LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce. The M&A rooms are not a coincidence. A growing number of our clients are preparing to sell, and the state of their digital estate turns out to matter a great deal when they do.

Four things we will not negotiate on

01

You own everything

Domains, hosting, ad accounts, and analytics stay in your name. We would rather earn the renewal than hold the keys.

02

One point of contact

Design, development, hosting, marketing, and the account credentials underneath, all on one number. Nobody has to chair a meeting between three vendors to find out whose fault it is.

03

Reporting you can read

Numbers a CFO can follow without a translator, including the months where the honest answer is that nothing much moved.

04

A US based team

The person who writes your page is the person you can call about it. Nothing is quietly passed along at midnight.

Sixteen rings and counting

If you would rather talk to a person than read a website, that option has been on this page the whole time.
